Username Checker

Before social engineering, attackers collect their targets' public traces: accounts opened under the same username, code repositories and profiles. This tool shows which public platforms a username is used on.

Queries are not stored. The tools use public information only; client-side tools never send your data anywhere.

What this tool checks

  • Developer platforms: GitHub, GitLab, Codeberg, Docker Hub, npm, PyPI, Hugging Face
  • Communities: Reddit, Hacker News, DEV, Mastodon
  • Messaging: Telegram
  • Keybase

How to use it

  1. 01

    Enter the username without @.

  2. 02

Press Check; each platform is queried separately.

  3. 03

Open the profiles found and confirm whether they're yours.

Technical details

How it's checked

Each platform's public profile URL or API is queried. If there's no profile, the platform returns “not found”. Some platforms limit automated queries; then the result is “Could not verify”.

A match is not an identity

The same username can belong to different people. Results show that a name is in use, not who owns the account.

For organizations

Holding your company and brand names on important platforms is a simple defense against fake accounts and supply chain attacks such as look-alike packages.

Frequently asked questions

Why aren't Instagram or X (Twitter) included?

Those platforms block automated profile checks and don't give reliable results. Rather than show wrong answers, we left them out.

Does this tool collect personal data?

No. It only checks whether a public profile exists under the username you enter; profile content isn't read or stored.

I found an account impersonating my brand — what now?

Use the platform's impersonation report form. In package registries (npm, PyPI), impersonation carries malware risk and should be reported immediately.

How should I read the results?

Amber rows mean the name is taken on that platform. If it isn't yours and relates to your brand, look into it.
